How To Correct Error State In Epson Workforce 845?
Printer purchased in Oct. 2012. Perhaps it has outlived its usefulness. Has printed thousands and thousands of copies.

You have not stated what the error message is that you are recieving. If you refer to the user guide downloadable from this link:

Search the guide for error messages or the troubleshooting section to find the solution to your problem. If it is an error code then carry out an internet search for the error in relation to your printer and I am sure a solution will be there.
