Dc31
my dyson dc31 keeps stopping and starting when trigger pulled.
could this be because the brushes on motor wearing out and if so could i replace them myself

The answer is easy. Press the button on the top to separate the two halves. The problem is caused by the contacts from the battery in the rear half not making a good connection with the corresponting contacts in the front half. I carefully prised out the top of each contact on the front half, bent it towards yourself a little, then tuck the top of the contact tab back under as it was originally. Put both halves back together and ensure that the top button clicks home and the machine will now run as long as you activate the trigger. Hope that helps others. Durango
