Simple answer...use another password.

Can I assume that the password "contains" the @ symbol?  If the entire password is comprised of just "@" then that is a dangerous password and should be changed.  A brute force attack will find that in seconds.

If it won't accept that character then you simply cannot use it. There will be no workaround.

In most cases that symbol is a reserved character.  Most systems won't allow it's use, some may.  Your best bet is to avoid reserved or potential reserved characters whenever possible.
