I Called To Cancel My Free Trial Of Premium Movie Channels As There Was Nothing

I called to cancel my free trial of premium movie channels as there was nothing ever on that I was interested in. I told them I would like to upgrade to a DVR receiver, and was told that would be a charge of $99.00. No problem; gave my credit card number and set up a date for installation. Then I was transferred to a "3rd party verifier", who proceeded to tell me my card would be charged $175. I argued that no, I was told the price was $99.00. This person was extremely rude and said it was $175.00. I told him to cancel it. He said he could not. After finally telling him the $175 was not the amount I agreed to, he said he was canceling it. Later that day, my credit card company notified me of a charge of $175 to my account. Is this a normal practice to be quoted one price, transferred to some third party to get more money that you didn't agree to? Who do I contact to get my $75.00 back?

This seems totally out of character for DTV CS. I suggest you call 1 (800) 531-5000 DIRECTV, Customer service for assistance in resolving this issue. If they will not correct this charge call your CC company & dispute the charge.
