Error code E101 on the Cub Cadet CC30E electric rider indicates a charging system failure. If your 6-month-old LT42E is not charging and displaying this error code, there could be several possible reasons, such as:
  1. Battery issues: The battery may be faulty, damaged, or not holding a charge. You can check the battery voltage with a multimeter to see if it is within the recommended range.
  2. Charging port issues: The charging port or cable may be damaged or not properly connected. Check to see if the charging port is clean and free of debris, and ensure that the charging cable is securely connected.
  3. Charging system issues: The charging system may be malfunctioning, which could be due to a faulty voltage regulator or charging circuit. This will require a more in-depth diagnostic test by a qualified technician.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

  1. Check the battery voltage to ensure it is within the recommended range.
  2. Check the charging port and cable to ensure they are clean and properly connected.
  3. If the issue persists, contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the charging system.

It is also recommended to refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. Additionally, if your LT42E is still under warranty, you may be able to have it repaired or replaced at no cost.

Please respond to my effort to provide you with the best possible solution by using the "Acceptable Solution" and/or the "Helpful" buttons when the answer has proven to be helpful.
