My New Variable Speed Scroll Saw Won't Start.

There's power to the unit as the light works.  The saw occasionally ran very slowly, much slower than the speed adjustment allowed.  It would then run properly after a moment or two.  Now it won't start at all.  Could it be the switch?

had a similar problem.... took it apart and found that the pulley was disconnected from the shaft of the motor so screwed in a bolt to lock the pulley to the shaft and it worked
