Hp Docking Station Power
Why is the power plug in the back of the nx5000 diff from the power plug at the docking station?

The reason is that you have to provide not just power for the laptop but power for the docking station as well. Usually the power supply for the laptop is about 65Watts the power supply for the docking station and laptop is 90 Watts. That is why they fit a different connector so you do not overload your laptop power supply. You need to obtain the correct supply unit for the docking station if you obtained it without one.
