How To Turn An A60 Lcd Monitor On.

The camera has been inactive for a long period of time. New batteries were inserted and the camera turned on. No image appears on the monitor. Menu items do appear. replay functions properely. How do I turn the monitor on?

Ruddi's answer is correct but not complete. Canon acknowledged sensor defects in this model and agreed to repair it for "free." However that offer was recinded in 2011. To repair it now would be more expensive than the camera is worth. Mine has hit the circular file.
