Not Printing Black. New Cartridges (full)

I have replaced all of the cartridges with new Canon cartridges specific for the printer, did all of the test page printing, aligning, cleaning functions. The black ink is not printing at all - only the color ink. Why? I need to print a normal black and white word document, and of course - no such luck. Please help.

Try print head cleanings first (two times should do it). If that doesn't work, try turning your printer off and unplugging it for a minute. This sometimes helps to resolve software issues, which this could be. But I suspect you probably have a clogged print head there. If the above doesn't work, you may want to manually clean the print head.
