What Is Causing Whistling Noise?

I have a 2009 dts Cadillac that I bought new.  Sometimes, when driving faster than 65 miles per hour an annoying whistling noise occurs.  I have spent hours on the phone with GM  trying to resolve the problem.  It is not a consistent problem--months may pass without a problem then it starts again.

I have the same problem with my 2006 DTS. It occurs when the outside temps are 70 degrees or higher.  The higher the temp and the faster the speed, the louder the noise as well as the frequency.  It sounds like a high-pitched whistle and can drown out the radio.  If speed is kept below 69, the sound usually disappears.  I was told by one dealer the cowlings under the hood below the wipers were warped, causing a vibration pattern.  I had them replaced, but the noise persists.  I noticed recently that when I followed another vehicle (the bigger, the better) at about 2 car lengths (not too safe), the noise dissipated or disappeared.  Longer distances between vehicles did not work.  So it appears to be an air flow problem somewhere, but I don't think it's associated with the air condiioning as it occurs even with the air on internal recirculation.
