Thread Not Fabric Bunching And Loose

i just got my brother machine and made a large recieving lanket and it did great. i started on the second blanket and when i was doing the decorative stitch i decided to speed up the machine and thats when my thread started bunching and becoming loose and had loops. the stitch pattern is now distorted and not matter what i do with the tension its still does this. ive rethreaded my bobbin, cleaned it out and changed the neele. none have made a difference. what could it be?
