Usb Port Loose On Two Week Old Blackberry Pearl

My wife recently had trouble charging her two year old Blackberry. The USB port had broken loose, despite being handled gently. We bought a Blackberry Pearl new in a sealed box to replace the prior handheld. Now, just two weeks later, the same thing has happened...the USB port has broken loose and it is not possible to c harge the phone. The dealer is refusing to honor the Blackberry/RIM warranty. They are called Global Wireless in West Palm Beach FL. Is there any help available? I have attempted to email RIM...my emails keep bouncing back witha reference attached to read their "FAQs." I sense a grand runaround looming ahead...HELP! FYI I am a technology marketing person with my own blog...and thousands of readers & customers.
