If you're having trouble removing the spool from your Black and Decker GH300 trimmer, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
- Make sure the trimmer is unplugged or the battery is removed before attempting to remove the spool.
- Check that the spool is properly seated in the retainer cap. Sometimes the spool can become misaligned, making it difficult to remove. Try pressing down on the spool while turning it counterclockwise to see if this helps it release.
- Apply some lubricant to the retainer cap. Use a small amount of oil or WD-40 on the threads of the cap, as this can help loosen any debris or rust that may be preventing the cap from turning.
- Try using pliers or a wrench to grip the retainer cap. If the cap is stuck, you can try using pliers or a wrench to get a better grip on it. Just be careful not to damage the cap or the trimmer while doing so.
- Contact Black and Decker customer support. If none of these methods work, it's possible that there may be a more serious issue with your trimmer. In this case, you may need to contact Black and Decker customer support for further assistance.
Please respond to my effort to provide you with the best possible solution by using the "Acceptable Solution" and/or the "Helpful" buttons when the answer has proven to be helpful.

If you're having trouble removing the spool from the retainer cap of your Black and Decker GH300 trimmer, here are some steps you can try:
- Turn off and unplug the trimmer to ensure that it is not accidentally activated while you're working on it.
- Hold the spool down with one hand and twist the retainer cap counterclockwise with the other hand. The retainer cap should come off, allowing you to remove the spool.
- If the retainer cap won't turn, try pushing down on it while turning it counterclockwise. This can sometimes help to loosen it.
- If the spool is stuck to the retainer cap, try pulling it gently while twisting the cap counterclockwise. If it still won't come loose, you may need to use pliers to grip the spool and help pull it out.
- If all else fails, try lubricating the retainer cap with a small amount of oil or WD-40 to help loosen it. However, be careful not to get any oil on the spool or the trimmer head, as this can cause problems with the trimmer's performance
