In the guide it refers to the the chain oil system but does not offer an adjustment option so it is automatic. However one must use chainsaw oil as this is slightly stickier, ordinary thin oil will flow through faster. It is unlikely that the oil feed pipes are clogged as the reverse would happen. You would not get any oil.

It is normal to see oil on the chain. It reduces wear on the bar and chain.

Hope that solves your problem. Please mark as helpful if it leads you to a satisfactory solution.Thank you.

Thank you for providing the correct product information. The Black & Decker BECSP601 is a cordless electric chainsaw. If you're experiencing excessive oil usage and oil residue on the blade, there could be a few potential reasons for this:
  1. Oil leakage: Check for any visible signs of oil leakage from the chainsaw. If there is oil pooling or dripping from the saw, it could indicate a problem with the oiling system or a faulty oil reservoir or cap. In such cases, it is recommended to contact Black & Decker customer support or take the chainsaw to an authorized service center for inspection and repair.
  2. Improper oiling adjustment: Chainsaws require lubrication to ensure smooth operation and prevent overheating. There is usually an oil adjustment screw that controls the flow of oil to the chain. If the oiling is set too high, it can result in excessive oil consumption and residue on the blade. You can try adjusting the oil flow to a lower setting as per the manufacturer's instructions to see if it reduces the issue.
  3. Incorrect oil type or viscosity: It's important to use the appropriate bar and chain oil recommended by the manufacturer for your chainsaw. Using the wrong oil or one with the incorrect viscosity can lead to inefficient lubrication, excessive consumption, and residue buildup. Refer to the product manual or contact Black & Decker for guidance on the suitable oil for your chainsaw.
