Asus X552e - Mind Of It's Own

I have an ASUS X552E and quite often when I am typing an e-mail all of a sudden my entire document deletes. somehow I must be hitting something but I can't figure out what. Also, there doesn't seem to be any way to restore it. Can you tell me how to correct this? I'm very frustrated.
