What you can try is to press FN and F8 at the same time to see if you are able to get a picture on your screen, if not, then you can also try to connect a monitor to your laptop to see if you can a picture. If you are able to get a picture on your monitor, then you will have to send the notebook in for service to see if they can pin point what was causing the LCD not to work and have it repaired. If you are still under the warranty, go ahead and proceed. If you are out of warranty, then I suggest buying a new Asus laptop which has more features and are very affordable.
