Wont To Play Songs

when I select the song I want to hear the ipod shuts off. what do I do to fix this?

First, try resetting it: hold down the center and menu button at the same time. If it still shuts off, try replacing the battery. If it's under warranty, contact Apple: http://www.apple.com/support

a good thing to do is restore it to its default settings by going into itunes and the give it a food charge!!
