My Acer Veriton 3900 Pro Randomly Shuts Down And Loud Fan Noise.

My acer veriton 3900 pro with 2.13 Core 2 duo processor and 3gbs of ram randomly shuts down and when i turn it back on it gives this loud fan noise before booting up. anyone knows whats the error?

From your description I'd say the fan is failing. Most likely it is the CPU fan. When the CPU overheats the PC will shut down. CPU fans are cheap and easy to replace.

The new fan will depend on the CPU installed. The specs list these:

Intel® Celeron® with 533 MHz FSB
Intel® Celeron® D with 533 MHz FSB
Intel® Pentium® 4 with 533/800 MHz FSB
Intel® Pentium® D with 800/1066 MHz FSB

Here are replacement fans and heat sinks. The system uses a "socket LGA 775" CPU.
