The Cd/dvd Is Inoperative

I can nog open the CD/DVD insert pull-out, except when the laptop is in the process ofbeing closed or open. If I insert a DVD, the OS does not see it at all.

Have you tried cleaning the laser lens with a cd/dvd cleaner disk. Also try different cds/dvds to see if the system will recognize them. You may want to check the dvd in device manager, double click it & check for a new driver since yours may be corrupted.
