Aspire M5640 Black Powers On, Fans Turn Nothing Else Works, Why?

Turn on power and get the blue light and fans come on. Nothing else will work. No mouse, keyboard, or speaker is working.  Checked power supply and it was good.  No light on the motherboard no monitor. Is my motherboard gone?

How did you test the power supply?  With a tester designed to test ATX supplies?

This sounds like a defective power supply but if you are sure it's good then yes, the motherboard is likely bad.

It's also possible that the CPU chip has blown.  I recommend you have atech look at it.  They will have parts they can swap in to located the defective part.
