How To Replace The Cmos Battery In My Old Acer 603 Ter Laptop

My CMOS battery on the 603 ter has gone bad and I have bought the correct replacement cr1220. However, having carefully removed the screws and inspected the way the case is fitted, I am unable to locate an easy way to find and replace the battery. Do you have any experience of this model and how to do the battery changeover. The machine is in good shape but as it is over ten years old, I feel it is not worth putting into a workshop, simply for a battery replacement. Any help or advice gratefully appreciated - Thanks - Terry
