Waste of Money...Do Not Buy!!!
I was told this unit had a bucketless design and the condesate would evaporate and be sent out the window with the exhaust....Basically, you don't have to drain it. For information purposes, I live in MA...moderately humid but nothing crazy. Well come to find out that is not the case. Every 3 hours the unit shuts off and I need to empty the condensation resevior in order to turn it back on. VERY INCONVENIENT!!! To add insult to injury...the drain is at the bottom of the unit, 2 inches off the floor, and you basically need to drain into a cookie sheet. You can spent extra money like I did and hook up a small hose to the drain but because it is a gravity drain, you would have to disconnect the unit from the window and wheel it over to a staircase to drain to a lower level or a floor drain (who has a floor drain in their house?) I calmly contacted Sharp Corp. about my issues in the hopes that they took pride in their products and actually wanted them to work as advertised. They were completely disinterested in helping me rectify the issues. They basically told me it is what it is and there was nothing they could do. I have since gone back to my old window AC unit and still have my $500, State of the art, Sharp Portable AC sitting in a corner being useless! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ONE THIS UNIT, ALSO KEEP IN MIND HOW SHARP HANDLES ITS CUSTOMER RELATION ISSUE WHEN MAKING ANY ELECTRONICS PURCHASE...THEY WERE AS USELESS AS THEIR PRODUCT!!!
