When any key is pressed the display is illuminated. It will decrease in the dark. The display will remain illuminated for easy viewing in brightness before shutting off. 45 NOTE: The backlight is powered by the 24V AC supply. The backlight will not operate when there is an AC power interruption or if the thermostat is removed from the wallplate. Backlighting (INDIGLO® Night-Light) Your thermostat has an electroluminescent lamp that backlights the display for 15 seconds after the last key is pressed. This allows the light to stay on if you need to operate several keys.
