Wrap the bare metal ends of each unused wire with electrical tape, so it cannot touch and short out other wires. Installation Guide Identify wires you will not use unconnected wires. Connect wires (typical installation) 1. If labels do not match letters on terminal. 2. Labels don't match? Restore electrical power at the heating/cooling system, or at the fuse/circuit-breaker panel. Wallplate Thermostat 14 TIP: If wires interfere when you try to mount the thermostat, push excess wire back into place. 2. Installation Guide Mount thermostat and restore electrical power 1. In case of difficulty RTH3100C If you have difficulty with your thermostat, please try the following suggestions. Display is blank • Check circuit breaker and reset if necessary. • Make sure power switch at heating & cooling system ... temperature is set higher than the Inside temperature. • Check circuit breaker and reset if necessary. • Make sure heating & cooling power switches are correctly installed (see page 13). Most problems can be corrected quickly and easily.
