What does "ACE" mean? This ACE release (December 1999) extends HPUX to the HP-UX 10.20 Operating System. In addition to extending the capabilities of HP-UX 10.20, the ACE software corrects any critical or serious defects discovered since the original release of enhancements to support new hardware and software features. After you load ACE software on your computer, you will still be running HP-UX 10.20. 2 An ACE bundle is, as it's name implies, a collection of HP-UX 10.20. Other than correcting defects, ACE software does not modify the behavior of the base operating system.
