Upon successful decode, the scanner beeps and the LED turns green. Laser light reflecting directly back into the scanner from the bar code is known as specular reflection. This specular reflection can tilt the scanner up to work within. Simple practice quickly shows what tolerances to 55° forward or back and achieve a successful decode. Aiming the Scanner Do not hold the scanner directly over the bar code. You can make decoding difficult. Operating the Scanner 4. User Guide www.hp.com 4-5
