Camera Memory Card

When i put in my memory card from my camera nothing happens---there is not another slot for it?

First of all- is your card on this list below-? If not that would explain one possibility

Otherwise if your camera has a short lead with it, this usually connects to the usb /fiewire on the pc, and windows will ask if you wish to download from it-
