Monitor Doesn't Come On

my elderly neighbor's emachine's monitor stoped working. It's getting power, but on reboot it continues not working. all wires correctly attached.

Sounds like the issue may be the lcd monitor. If you have other connectors on the back of your emachine desktop, try plugging into those to see if you have the same issue. If you are having the same issue, then it may just be the motherboard if you are using onboard graphics. You can resetting the unit back to factory default. Make sure to back up any of his data before doing this. After you do the factory reset and the screen comes back on, must of been some software that is causing the monitor to not power on. If you don't want to try this, just borrow his lcd monitor and connect to your computer to see if the screen comes on. If it doesn't, then he will need to send the lcd monitor to be repaired.
