My Emachines 350-2469 Has No Sound

Although the Device Manager says it is working properly, I have no sound.  Only when I go to YouTube, I get sound.  For other applications, such as Skype, I hear nothing.  Am I having the wrong sound card driver?  If so, would you please direct me to the right place to download the correct driver?
