How To Eliminate On Screen Display Without Remote???

Hi-How do I eliminate the on screen display that is showing up on my tv watching dvds and vcrs? It does not show up when watching regular tv. I do not have a rav190 remote anymore. My Yamaha receiver is RX-V995. I have called Yamaha as well as harmony because I have a harmony hub. Yamaha tells me that the only way is to repurchase another remote. Do I have any options??? I have been at this all day!!! Thank you.Bria

If Yamaha say you can't then there should be another way apart from resetting the whole thing which will make things worse as you do not have a remote. Try this youtube video which may give you some info on going in through the back door.
