Ps3 Audio
can't get audio to my yamaha rx-v430 receiver from my PS3, receiver doesn't have hdmi, and ps3 only has a hdmi and an optical port so I need to use optical but I can't seem to get any sound. I know it's set up properly because I've got a bluray player connected to it via normal AV cables (red and white cables) so the problem obviously is the optical settings... please help??

Enable the PS3 settings to HDMI for sound, set sound to PCM if you have the newer HDMI reciever.
If you don't have a reciever that does HDMI, then you will need to use a optical cable.
Make sure you reciever is also set to the right input like HDMI or optical.
