My Htr 5240 Keeps Shutting Off

it comes on for a minute and then shuts off

That proves the audio output stage is shorted on or two channels. It will need to be checked out to assess the situation.

Perform a reset

Here is how to factory reset your receiver:1. turn power off.
2. press the 6ch input and stereo button simultaneously for 4 seconds. Then while holding down these 2 buttons, turn the power on.
3. press preset tuning to the right until option #9 is selected.
4. Then, press program button until the *RV option is selected.
5. turn power off, wait 10 seconds.
6. turn power on, settings are reset.
