To defrost bread in a Whirlpool WMH31017HW microwave, follow these steps:

Remove the bread from its packaging and place it on a microwave-safe plate or dish.

Set the microwave to defrost mode. On the Whirlpool WMH31017HW, you can do this by pressing the "Defrost" button.

Use the dial or keypad to select the weight of the bread. If you are unsure of the weight, you can estimate it or consult the packaging for information.

Press "Start" to begin the defrost cycle.

After a few minutes, the microwave will pause to allow you to flip the bread over. If your microwave has this feature, follow the instructions on the screen to flip the bread and resume the defrost cycle.

Once the defrost cycle is complete, remove the bread from the microwave and let it sit for a few minutes to allow any remaining ice crystals to melt.

If the bread is not fully thawed, you can repeat the defrost cycle for additional time, checking on it periodically to avoid over-thawing.

Note: It is important to use the defrost mode instead of the regular microwave setting to avoid cooking the bread instead of thawing it. Additionally, be sure to check the bread periodically during the defrost cycle to ensure that it is not over-thawing or becoming too warm.
