Start Button Gas Dryer Model Wgd9600ta

The start button of my Whirlpool gas dryer popped out. It seems that the little plastic knob can not be purchased separate and that a new console needs to be fitted with part nr AP4354916 but this is no longer manufactured. Do you have a solution for this problem? It seems absurd that I have to buy another dryer because of a little plastic push button.

First go to http://www.ereplacementparts.com/whirlpool-wgd9600ta0-residential-dryer-parts-c-163752_165718_303145.html. Then if necessary see if you can get a part number for the button (see the contact information here: http://www.corporateofficeowl.com/whirlpool/Corporate%20Office) or if not use the part number you already have, and try the following:
  • Contact local parts dealers, who might be able to supply or maybe fix the part
  • Enter your part number in a search engine like Google or Yahoo
  • Try http://www.searchtempest.com/, which displays global listings from eBay, Craigslist, and other sources
  • Take the part you have to an appliance technician, who might possibly be able to fix or replace the part
  • Contact refurbishing companies
