I understand how important it is for your mom to enjoy her new Vizio D series smart TV. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to ensure she can watch her desired programs:

1. Make sure the TV is powered on: Ensure that the TV is properly plugged into a power outlet and that the power cable is securely connected. Press the power button on the TV or the TV remote to turn it on.

2. Check the input/source: Ensure that the TV is set to the correct input/source for the cable connection. Using the TV remote, look for an "Input" or "Source" button and press it to cycle through the available inputs until you reach the one where the cable is connected. It may be labeled "HDMI 1" or "Cable/Antenna," depending on the TV model.

3. Set up the cable connection: If your mom hasn't set up the cable connection on her TV yet, she may need to scan for channels. On the TV remote, locate the "Menu" or "Settings" button, then navigate to the "Channels" or "Tuner" section. Look for an option to scan for channels or auto-tune. Select that option, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the channel setup process. This step will allow her to watch her desired programs.

4. Connect to the internet: If your mom wants to access streaming services or smart features on her TV, she'll need to connect it to the internet. On the TV remote, locate the "Menu" or "Settings" button, then navigate to the "Network" or "Wi-Fi" section. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the TV to the Wi-Fi network.

5. Use the TV remote: Ensure that your mom is using the correct remote for the TV. Sometimes, cable or satellite remotes are used to control the TV as well. If so, make sure to switch to the original Vizio TV remote to access all the TV's features.

If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it may be worth contacting Vizio customer support for further assistance. They can provide troubleshooting specific to your mom's TV model and help her get everything set up correctly.
