Toshiba C855d-s5303 Memory Upgrade

I removed the 2GB memory module, and replaced it with two 4GB modules. I double-checked to ensure the new modules were properly seated. When I turned my laptop on, the "Toshiba" start-up screen flashed across my display 1X, and then shuts down. I already tried reinstalling each module individually, to see if the laptop would work with a single 4GB module. Still, the PC runs for a split second, and then shuts down. The new memory is PNY DDR3 PC3-10666. Upon removing the two 4-GB modules, and reinstalling the original 2GB module, my laptop still boots up for a split second, and then shuts down. What might the problem be?

I think this might not be a memory or RAM issue. This is usually caused by a n overheating of the processor. Remember rthat the processor has a programmed instructions to shut itself down if it reaches a certain temperature. To fix this, try to check the Fan and Heat Sink. Make sure that these are properly inserted to their slots.
