Plays Vcr Tape For Approx 5 Sec, Then Powers Down.
Operation seems normal as to inserting a VCR tape and setting up the DVR670. But after about 5 seconds of playback, which seems normal with picture and sound, the unit powers down.

Hi it sounds like the reading head is dirty and/or tape binding... First thing would do is see if can run cleaning tape but since not play that may not be possible. So would need to unplug the unit and remove the cover. Then take some Qtips and rubbing alcohol and clean the metal drum shaped head, plastic guides, and rubber rollers. Allow to dry and may leave cover off, plug in, insert disc and observe loading, press play and verify tape is moving or if not where may be obstructed.
