How Do I Set My Text Message Alerts To Ring And Vibrate When I Receive A Text?

I want my phone to ring and vibrate when i receive a text message but i dont know how to make it do that or if it is even possible.

If you have an Iphone....go into your settings, go to sounds, be sure vibrate is "ON" then go down to text tone and select a sound.
