Remote Control Not Working Vpl Es2 Projector

I have purchased a second hand projector which has worked great. The remote control suddenly stopped working. I have changed the batteries with new ones several times and it still does not work. The remote does give an infrared signal. How would i test if the infrared receiver on the projector is faulty?

Have you cleaned the battery contact points on the remote? Is the projector mounted ? if not was it bumped or banged?  Then it could be possible that the IR connections to the circuit board may have become loose. I would clean remote battery contact points first if the problem is still there open the case and check IR connection plug or solder points. It is more likely the remote is the issue not the receiver.
