Is A Kdl 52xbr9 Inverter # 1-878-997-12 Interchangable With A 1-878-997-11
are inverters 1-878-997-11 and 1-878-997-12 interchangeable?

First of all there are two inverters (one master and a slave) that feeds the high voltage to two balancer boards (these are the ones located right on the sides of the panel. The balancer boards only have a small transformer to monitor each florescent tubes current draw. They have had many problems with the inverters and these are mounted on the back of the panel with heavy wires feeding the balancers. the part numbers of these boards are: A-1663-194-A D4N BOARD and A-1663-192-A D3N BOARD.
If you need the balancer boards after all (these are not available from Sony separately from the panel since they have never had one fail) here is a place that buys broken screen TVs and sells the parts they harvest from the carcass: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=kdl52xbr9. You will see that they call the balancers inverters by accident, and they have the actual nverters in stock here too.
Oh yea, as for your part numbers, Sony has no records of them in there parts data banks.
