Why Does My Sony 40' Bravia Xbr Lcd Kdl-40xbr4 Tv Have A Plaid Screen Sometimes?
I had Directv for the first 4 years and it was perfect. I upgraded to HD with Dish and that's when the picture would have shadows or plaid colors. Dish sent another receiver however it still does the same thing. I can unplug and plug the TV and it works for the rest of day. But it will do it again another day and I have to unplug and plug in again and the TV will work again.It has a perfect picture when it's working. Most of the time,it will mess up right after you turn it on if it's going to do it.

you might have a bad LCD panel, take pictures and then send them to Sony.
