Sony 5-cd Changer (model Cdp-ce 500) Won't 'shuffle'? Get 'push Stop' Message

New machine. Works great, except won't "shuffle." When try, get "PUSH STOP" message. Had a chat session with Sony support. They had me try various unplug/re-start options. Nothing helped.

I'm the guy who posted the question -- which I've also seen on other sites. Solution: The "Shuffle" button ONLY works after you have pressed the "Stop" button (marked by a solid square). The Instructions don't say that--and even the Sony Tech Support people didn't know.
