Mile Measurement Is Incorrect

My Schwinn elliptical is not measuring the miles ran correctly. The machine is set to miles, but it is almost doubling the miles I am running. Is there a way to fix this?

The speed sensor may be failing it is located behind & under the pedal spindle.

RPM sensor should be aligned with magnet and wiring should be intact. Realign sensor if necessary. Replace if there is any damage to the sensor or the connecting wire.
