How Do You Keep A Samsung Detector Switch Aa41-00756c In The Up / On Postion

I just installed a new lamp and detector switch. The TV only worke if I hold it in the up/on position. The arm does not stay up as it has a spring that returns it to the off position. How do I remedy this ?

The set will only work if the switch arm is in the up position and taped or the wires are wrapped around the arm to hold it in this position.

When the lamp door is in positon a plastic tab on the door presses this arm up, so the set knows that the back is on and the door is closed.
