Faxing With Aficio Mp 2851
Have received faxes on machine, but have not been able to send fax.

Hi, here are some things to try:
- Check the phone line to make sure you are getting a dial tone. You can do this either by pressing On Hook on the fax screen, or by hooking a phone into the jack where the fax line is plugged in. Also make sure that there are no tones before the standard dial tone, such as sometimes occur when you have a voicemail.
- Make sure you are dialing the correct prefixes. Do you have to dial 9 to access an outside line? Do you have to dial 1 for a long distance number?
- Check the error code that prints out when you try to send a fax and it doesn't go through. There is a troubleshooting section in the user manual where you can look up error codes, or if you keep getting the same code, post it on HelpOwl for additional help.
