Unfortunately, this is a very common problem for this specific product. The repair however is not as easy. There are a few things we can try. The E1 error comes up for about anything electrical.
  • take the top cover off and check to make sure the safety switch, behind where you put the magnet has not worked loose
  • remove the motor hood
  • unplug and replug in every wire connection on all the boards and leading up to and including the console
  • try pushing and holding the round button beside the power on switch for 30 seconds. I myself am not sure what this does, but they told me it worked for them. So I figured I would let you know as well.
  • If nothing else works you will need to take a meter and check each wire individually for continuity.
  • If nothing else works you may need to replace the complete wire harness

Alternatively, you can contact ProForm directly for assistance, and/or seek repairs.

The OneTouch UltraMini® Meter displays messages when there are problems with the test strip, problems with the meter, or when your blood sugar level is higher than 600 mg/dL or lower than 20 mg/dL. Messages do not appear in all cases when a problem has occurred. Improper use may cause an inaccurate result without producing a warning message.
