The main unit of the BTT195is barely larger than a Blu-ray player, and at first glance looks no different than one. The deck measures 1.8 by 16.9 by 10.4 inches (HWD) and weighs 5.3 pounds, making it thin enough to fit anywhere in your home theater cabinet. The front panel holds the Blu-ray drive tray, a blue LED display, an SD card slot, and a USB port for connecting your iPod or other portable music device. Power, Eject, and Volume Up/Down buttons sit on the top edge of the panel. The back of the deck is simple for a surround sound system. The unit uses small rectangular ports and speaker wires with color-coded plugs to fit the ports instead of binding posts or standard speaker wire ports, saving space on the back. The panel also holds HDMI, USB, Ethernet, optical audio, analog stereo audio, and FM radio antenna ports.
The speakers look good, but feel light, and aren't particularly impressive. While the subwoofer boasts a 6.5-inch driver that puts out satisfying bass for its size, the left, right, rear left, and rear right satellites each have only a single 2.5-inch driver, and the center channel boasts just a pair of 2.5-inch drivers and a piezoelectric tweeter. The front left and right speakers have three grilles, but two cover only passive ports, leaving each with just one active driver.
