Nikon L830 Cant Read Camera Card

I've bought a Nikon coolpix l830 and it won't read my memory card.? It has read it before it just recently stopped. I bought a new memory card a SanDisk and its doing the same thing. My niece has her first birthday next week and I would like to use my camera but it won't read my card. I don't know what to do?

Go to pages 18 & 73 for sd card recommended cards & formatting info. Be certain that the write protect switch is off.
