Negligence Repair On My Car.

I got an oil change from the place where I purchased my car from. I had to get it towed to the nearest dealership. Their was a diagnostic done on the car; the service advisor ask me who had done my oil change and I told him the place where I got my car from. I asked him why, he tells my the oil filter was loose which in turn cause my engine to lock up. The cost for the reapir is $8000. It's not my fault and I should not have to cover the cost.
