My Maytag Med9700sb Will Not Turn On

I can close the front load door, it shuts off the interior light but when I press the control button absolutely nothing lights and the dryer simply will not turn on. Belt is fine, drum turns with struggle. I'm thinking its the female door catch on the door that needs replaced. Am I wrong??? Please help. Thanks
